Dan Schimmel is an artist based in Portland and Brooksville, Maine. In 2021/22 he was the Artist-in-Residence at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and taught an art compendium, WasteWorks at WPI from 2021 to 2025. He studied art at the University of California at Berkeley (1986-89), as an undergraduate and the University of Iowa, Iowa City (1995-98), where he earned an MFA.
